DEFACED a Found Archive contains scans of dozens of mutilated books from The University of Arizona's main library. The extensive mutilation took place for at least thirteen years, and has spread across thousands of pages. The writing targets all “others” with a particular hatred for women and Blacks. Much of the defacement is racially and sexually charged, with threats, and calls for violence. DEFACED exists as a digital archive, a small fraction of which has been printed for installation.
